Sharing cultures with Immigrant workers :

My name is Adriano. I came to America in 1969. I worked for American Insulated Wire for 18 years. In 1987, one day I got into a huge accident. After the accident, I had to quit my work. From that point on, I started to make Black Cats in wood. I know that the black cat typically means ‘BAD LUCKLUCK’ in America. However, in my home country of Portugal, a Black Cat actually means ‘GOOD LUCKLUCK.’ Even though it is pure superstition, I would like to share this part of my culture. So, I am now saying to everyone ‘BOA SORTE!’ which means GOOD LUCK!
